MDS Christmas Cards & Blog Hop

It's hard to believe this is our last MDS Blog Hop of 2013!!  Today we are sharing with you what we've been working on.  I created our family Christmas cards in MDS again this year.  The hardest part is always getting a good family photo…  It's not my favorite but it had to do.  Here is the front of the 5x7 Christmas card I created:

I just love the chalkboard look that is so popular right now.  I thought it would look great with the colors in our photo.  I also love that we can add a design to the back of our cards in MDS:

Since our girls (our pooches) are such a big part of our lives I wanted to include them in our card.  lol!

Products Used:
Grateful Pocket Cards (background paper), Downtown Grunge (frame), Basic Pearls & Rhinestones, Christmas Messages, Love More (scroll), This Makes Me Happy (heart)

I had our cards printed through Stampin' Up! and was so happy with how quickly I received them!!  It's always a big relief to have these done every year!

Make sure and follow along with our blog hop to see what our other amazing designers have been working on.  Next up is Beth Rush.  I can't wait to see what she created.

December Daily - MDS Style

Happy Monday!  I'm really behind in sharing this with you….. but I'm attempting to do a December Daily Album this year.  This is the first year that our beliefs in Santa and our elf Jolly are a little different over here (sniff, sniff), so it's fun to have a new project for me to start.  I used the Daily December Photobook Template as my starting point.  And actually, I plan to stay pretty close to the template pages as time is always an issue this time of year.  :/   Seriously, there are days I love being able to click and add a photo to a pre-designed page.  It's such a time saver!!

Here is my cover page:

And here is my first page:

I love the look of adding text and stamps over photos - so fun!!  I'll continue to share more of my pages with you throughout the month.  I'm not sure how exciting they'll be… it seems like we're always running from one sport to another, doing homework, squeezing in dinner, etc., etc.  But, I'm hoping this will help me take the time to make sure we do some fun family activities - and that they are documented!

The good thing is… My Digital Studio will make this a little bit easier, quicker and cuter! And I know my family will enjoy looking back at our time together this Christmas!

You can check out the Daily December Photobook Download HERE in my online store.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderfully, creative week! :)

SCIC #73 Sketch Challenge

Happy Sunday!  There's a new sketch over at Stampin' Celebration today.  I haven't had a lot of time to stamp lately ('tis the season), but I can always count on My Digital Studio to help me create something cute quick!  Both of my boys have had another great semester at school.  They've both received all A's again and my 8th grader gets to exempt all 6 of his finals because of his grades.  :)  This makes a mama very proud.  I think I've come to expect it though, and don't always give them the recognition that they deserve.  :(  I wanted to create a card for them along with a little surprise and knew I could make something "cool" and boyish with MDS.  Here's what I came up with:

Here is the sketch from Stampin' Celebration that I used for my inspiration:

Products Used:
Software:  My Digital Studio
Downloads:  Old School, Naturals Designer Buttons, It's All me

One of my newer downloads that I used for this card is Old School.  OMGoodness (as my 12 yo says).  This is a really great kit!!  Lots of great paper, embellies and stamps. Check it out HERE!

Make sure and check out the Stampin' Celebration blog and see what the other Designers have created with this sketch.  We'd love for you to play along with us!!

Have you checked out my online store lately?  There are lots of NEW ARRIVALS that you won't want to miss!  New stamp sets, Valentine's Kits, Best of December, etc., etc.!!

Also, don't forget to check out all of the new items added to the Clearance Rack HERE in my online store!!  There are 10 pages of fun products at a huge discount!  Only available while supplies last!!

MDS Calendars

Happy Thursday and welcome back for another round of the MDS Blog Hop!

Today's theme is Calendars.  I love to make calendars this time of year to give our family for Christmas.  However, if I were to post them here then that would ruin their surprise…. lol!  So, today I want to share with you a calendar I made for my organizer.  I use the Arc Customizable Notebook from Staples for my planner.  I love that I can create my own lists, calendars, etc. to add to my notebook.  I needed a monthly calendar for 2014 -- and MDS to the rescue!

I wanted a monthly calendar with room to keep up with a few things.  I created a to-do list, a column for birthdays/anniversaries and another one for monthly design team projects.  I kept the calendars simple and added a few cute elements to each month.  I'll share with you a few of the other pages:

I love how easy it is in MDS to add a calendar to your project!

My new calendar pages are all printed (8 1/2 x 11) and ready for my notebook!  I love that I can design and print these at home, punch them out and add to my notebook!  I feel more organized already!

Along with a monthly calendar I use an awesome daily planning sheet that I want to share with you.

I found this free printable on the Simple Organized Living Blog HERE.   I print these as double sided, punch and add to my notebook!  I've found a little organization makes me a lot more productive!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  You can follow along with our Blog Hop to see the other designers' projects! Next up is Beth Rush - click the button below to follow along to her blog! :)

Thanks for hopping with us and have a great day!!

SCIC #73 Christmas Layout

Happy 1st day of December!!  A new month means it's time for a new inspiration challenge over at Stampin' Celebration!

I love the traditional Christmas colors of these inspiration photos.  They inspired me to create this layout from our Christmas morning last year:

This layout came together really quickly using the paper and stamps from the This and That Season of Style Photobook download as my starting point.  I had fun pulling in my (new to me) Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon and Top Notch Woodcuts. :)

Products Used:
Software:  My Digital Studio
Downloads:  This and That Season of Style Photobook, Cherry Cobbler Grosgrain Ribbon, Downtown Grunge (background paper), Top Notch Woodcuts, Family Fun (stitching), Get it Done (label punch), Silver Glimmer Paper, Timeless Type Alphabet Punch, Daily December Memories (Christmas), Sweet on Christmas (Merry, Merry, Merry)

Now's the time when I like to make sure all of my Christmas photos from last year are scrapbooked!  Today's photo inspiration challenge was just what I needed!  What are you inspired to create?  We'd love for you to link up with us over at the Stampin' Celebration Blog here.  Make sure and check out the other Design Team projects by following the links below:
