Creative Crew Challenges

Happy Friday!!  I'm off to take my boys and their friends to the water park today - trying to make the most of our last few days of summer!  Where has the time gone??  A new month means a new set of challenges over at SCS from the Creative Crew.  I have really enjoyed being part of this team for the last four months.  I can't believe it's almost over.  :(

I want to share with you a card I made for one of this month's challenges:

Products Used:
Stamps:  Yippee-Skippee! (#131344)
Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar
Paper:  Vellum, Eastern Elegance, Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Curry, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Other:  Big Shot, Apothecary Labels, Labels Collection Framelits, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Canvas Creations, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Mini Brads, Large Rhinestone Basic Jewels

I had fun making this card!  I couldn't believe how easy it was to stamp and die cut the Canvas Creations!  What a fun product!  I also love the way vellum looks against DSP - such a nice, subtle look!

Here is the Creative Crew Challenge that inspired me to create this card:

CCREW0813CF, CreativeCrew, SUO or SUM -- Catalog focus: Beyond the paper basics, take a look at page 156 of the main catty, WOW us with one of the following "beyond the basics" products: Canvas Creations, Vellum Cardstock, Window sheets, or Coaster board sheets. Challenge yourself to think outside of your normal comfort zone, most of the things you can do with cardstock you can also do with these products, stamp on them, die cut them, turn them into boxes/bags/etc, look into mixed media art, try something different (who knows it could be your next big seller!)

You can check out the Creative Crew Gallery for more inspiration.  We'd love for you to play along and add your project to the gallery!

There's a new stamp set this month helping us to celebration Stampin' Up!'s 25 year anniversary!  Introducing the Best of October Stamp Set:

You can purchase this stamp set and see the other "Best of" stamp sets in My Online Store here.

Thanks for visiting and have a fabulous Friday! :)

Skater Dude

Happy Sunday!  Just a quick post as I have company coming any minute now...  I've been going through my photos and trying to make a dent in them!  I found these pictures of Carter from a few years ago.  They aren't the best quality but his little face is so cute... that I just had to scrapbook them!  (And luckily, I have a Nikon now which is one of my most prized possessions....)  Here's my layout:

Lots of white space and colored "grunge" but I do love how this came out!!  I love the stamps in the Back to School and Epic Overlays downloads.  Sooooo fun!!  I have a few more things to show you but will have to save that for another day!

Thanks for visiting and happy creating!!

MDS Challenge

Happy Friday!  Hubby is away so the mouse will play...  I snuck some creative time in this afternoon and played along with the challenge over at MDS Monday.  Here's the result:

I know, I know... I'm always posting boyish/sports pages... but the sketch over at MDS Monday was just perfect to showcase my boy's first goal with his summer lacrosse team!!  So glad I was there to see it!  And love that it's already scrapbooked!  (yay, me!)

I used a mix of downloads for this layout:
Back to School, Delightful Digital Tape, Natural Composition Overlays, Large Polka Dot DSP, This & That Epic Day, Nobody's Business, Timeless Type Alphabet, Game Day Football (I cropped the "1st" out of the 1st Down stamp).

I've done lots of scrapbooking this month!  I love making a dent in the thousands of photos on my laptop!  ;)  MDS makes it sooo easy and there are fun, new downloads released each week!!  Trust me... you won't get bored!!

This is Life

Hi there!  Saturday I spent the day at the Scrapbook Expo with some friends.  My favorite purchase was my new Scrapbook Girl shirt and cup from my friend Lisa over at Scrapbook Girl.  If you're looking for fun scrapbooking clothing and accessories (and super cute and comfy pj's) make sure and check out the Scrapbook Girl website here. So fun!  After seeing so many cute creations at the Scrapbook Expo, I was inspired to come home and create!  I made a quick layout in MDS that was inspired by Norine over at Challenge Me Happy.  (You can see her layout that I scrap-lifted here).  I just stumbled upon this site (I think through Pinterest) and found some awesome inspiration.  Sadly, the challenge blog is ending but I did find some new blogs to follow. ;) Here's my layout:

I had fun creating this layout.  I just kept browsing through different embellishments and stamps in MDS - finding all kinds of fun treasures I hadn't used before.  ;)  I hope the boys understand my journaling and sense of humor some day.... But seriously, this is a horrible picture of them!  lol!

Today is Tuesday which means there are new MDS downloads released today!!  You can check them out HERE.  I'm especially excited about the Eastern Elegance download.  That's my favorite paper from the new catalog - so pretty!

And, if digi isn't your thing, you can purchase this gorgeous two-sided paper pack HERE.

$99 STARTER KIT BONUS!!  Get a FREE Project Kit (value up to $29.95) when you purchase the Stampin' Up! Starter Kit from now through August 31st.  The kit includes your choice of $125 of Stampin' Up! product (digi too), for $99 plus tax and free shipping!   Click HERE for a flyer that lists the bonus kits available with this promotion!
