Cute as a Cupcake

Hi!  I wanted to post one of the cards we made this month at our Crazy 4 Cards class.  I just love the Build a Cupcake Punch.  It is so much fun!  You can use it with the coordinating Create a Cupcake stamp set or use it alone as we did with this card:

This card was so simple to make but so cute to give!  To make the big polka dots, I used a Sponge Dauber and my Crumb Cake Ink Pad.  I really like the effect.  I punched the cupcake out of Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink Cardstock.  I ran the Crumb Cake strip through the Crimper before I punched it out.  I covered the top of the cupcake piece with my 2-way Glue Pen and then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Products Used:
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso
Stamps:  Birthday Bakery (hostess level 1 set)
Ink:  Crumb Cake
Punches:  Build a Cupcake, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, Eyelet Border Punch
Other:  Crimper, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals

I just love the sentiment on this card - "If you are what you eat, eat something cute!"  This is from the Birthday Bakery hostess level 1 set.  You can receive this stamp set for FREE when you have a $150 worth of orders.  So, host a workshop, collect a few orders from friends OR stock up during Sale-a-Bration and get all of your favorite Stampin' Up! goodies.  All hostess benefits qualify plus you still receive a free Sale-a-Bration set with each $50 order.  There's not a better time to earn free goodies for purchasing your favorite products!  Contact me with any questions.

Bliss

Whew, where has this week gone?  I can't believe this is the first I've blogged this week!  Thursdays always mean it's time for a new Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge!  This week's photo inspired me to make a wedding card.  (Too bad I don't know anyone getting married - hee hee).  Here's what I came up with:

I'm not 100% sure that I love it, but I do really like this color combination.  Sadly, I still haven't ordered the Fun Flowers Die so I had to make my flower using my scalloped circle punches.  I sponged the edges with Whisper White Craft Ink and added the button in the center.

Products Used:
Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Rose Red
Stamps:  Bliss, Tiny Tags, Have a Seat
Ink:  Basic Black, Whisper White Craft
Punches:  1 3/4" Scallop Circle, 2 3/8 Scallop Circle, Jewelry Tag
Other:  Buttons (in brights), Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Stamping Sponge, Dimensionals

Here is the Inspiration Photo this week at Stampin' Celebration:

Aren't these photos gorgeous?!  Hop on over to Stampin' Celebration and check out the other Design Team's creations this week.  You have until next Wednesday to link up your project.  We'll pick one person to be our Guest Designer for the following week!

Lovely Bird

Happy Friday!  Last night I had a couple of cards I wanted to make for some friends.  I found two challenge sites that sparked my creativity so I thought I'd play along!  The first site I came across was The Color Throwdown.  The challenge here was to use these colors:

The second challenge I used was Create with Connie & Mary.  For their challenge, you were to use this sketch:

I love a good sketch challenge and those colors instantly made me grab my Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Certainly Celery... Yay!  Here's what I came up with:

I was so excited to finally ink up my Punch Potpourri set and use my Two-step Bird Punch!  I'm pretty happy with how this turned out.

Products Used:
Paper:  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Stamps:  Punch Potpourri
Ink:  Marina Mist
Punches:  Two-step Bird Punch, Scallop Oval, Oval, Scallop Trim Border
Other:  Big Shot Scallop Squares Duo Die, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

Sunny Inspiration

Ooooh, I have spring fever!  The sun is out, it's supposed to be in the 70's today, my son has his first baseball tournament this weekend, and there is some bright, cheerful inspiration over at Stampin' Celebration!  Here's the fun Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge photo this week:

Here's my creation based on this inspiration:

I recently had someone (hi mom), ask if I ever make cards in sizes other than the standard size.  So, I thought this was the perfect time to create a different sized card - hee hee.  This one is 5x5 and I just love how it turned out!  (And lucky for me, Stampin' Up! has some awesome square envelopes to match!)  I really like how challenges make me go outside of my comfort zone.  These aren't colors I would normally just grab to create and I sure wouldn't whip up a folded flower out of the blue.....  So, what are you waiting for?  Grab your paper and get creative!

Products Used:
Paper:  Whisper White, Certainly Celery, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Stamps:  Apple Blossoms (Hostess Set)
Ink:  Basic Black
Punches:  Eyelet Border, Corner Rounder
Ribbon:  1/8" Taffeta in Basic Black, Old Olive Satin Ribbon
Other:  Big Shot Matchbox Die (for sentiment tag), Brights Buttons, Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Make sure and stop by Stampin' Celebration and check out the other amazing projects from the rest of the Design Team.  We're making some exciting changes where you can have a chance to be our guest designer!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentine's Day!

If you're hopping over for the last day of the Let's Scrap Blog Hop, click here!

Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day and show two more little Valentine's projects!  First, a card I made for my hubby:

Excuse the floppy bow... wishing I would have taken another picture - lol!  I saw this idea of two hearts in a chair from several people on Stampin' Connection (the demonstrator website) and thought it was so cute!  I just love the simple sentiment - so perfect!

Products Used:
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
Stamps:  Filled with Love, Have a Seat
Ink:  Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler
Punches:  Oval, Scalloped Oval, Small Heart
Other:  Seam Binding Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals

Next, is a Valentine tag we made at our January Crazy 4 Cards Class.  I LOVE Crumb Cake.  It's one of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors!  It's so versatile and I love the tone on tone look.  I'm crazy about this Big Shot Die - so fun to make tags and bookmarks!

Products Used:
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Real Red
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Stamps:  Valentine Defined, Bliss, Filled With Love
Punches:  Oval, Scalloped Oval, Owl Punch (for the hearts)
Other:  Early Espresso Grosgrain Ribbon, Stamping Sponge

Spoil Yourself!

If you're hopping over for the Let's Scrap Blog Hop, click here!

Happy Friday!  Today is my Crazy 4 Cards Class and I'm so excited to share the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set with everyone!  We'll be making 4 fun cards and a gift tag!  Can't wait!!

I love when people think outside of the box and come up with creative ways to use our punches.  On one of the blogs I love, I saw where a fellow demonstrator, Carrie Gaskin, used the Build a Cupcake Punch to make little purses!  I consider myself creative, but never would have thought to do this!!  It is so cute and I just had to CASE it!  (CASE=copy and share everything!)  Here's my take on this idea:

I did my handles a little differently because I don't have the 3/4" circle punch - which is now on my wish list!  I used the oval punch to make the purse flaps, embossed the melon mambo one, punched out a circle with the 1/2" circle punch, and then punched around the circle with the scalloped oval punch.  The sentiment and little jewels are just the perfect touch!

Products Used:
Paper:  Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Basic Black
Stamps:  Bring on the Cake, Create a Cupcake
Ink:  Melon Mambo
Punches:  Build a Cupcake, Word Window, Modern Label, 1/2" Circle, Scalloped Oval
Other:  Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone Jewels

A Little Valentine's Treat

If you're hopping over for the Let's Scrap Blog Hop Challenge, click here!

Have you seen the yummy inspiration over at Stampin' Celebration this week?!  If not, here it is:

When I saw this photo, there were so many things I wanted to create!  Cupcakes, hearts, Valentine's - I was so inspired!  I needed to make some Valentine treats so I pulled out my NEW (to me) Matchbox Die for my Big Shot.  I've really been wanting to make some of the little matchboxes with covered chocolate nuggets inside that I've seen all over blogland.  I thought these would be cute for the boys to bring to their teachers on Valentine's.  Here's what I came up with:

I was really happy with how the little matchbox came out!  I tried to pull the hearts and the dots from the inspiration photo for both of my projects.  I saw a card I really liked by Jenny Peterson where she punched out hearts for her card and I just had to try it.  I love the look!

Here's a picture of the inside of the matchbox.  I covered the little chocolate nuggets (after I ate a few) with Patterned DSP.  Aren't they cute?!

I embossed a strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock and then layered the ribbon around the outside sleeve of the matchbox.  I tied it together with another little strip of ribbon and then topped it off with a rhinestone jewel.  What better for Valentine's?  Chocolate AND jewels!  :)

Wait until you see the other SCIC Design Team creations this week!  Make sure and stop by Stampin' Celebration and check it out!  You have until next Tuesday to upload your project and a chance to be the Pick of the Party!

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Filled with Love
Ink:  Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink (from my Classic Stampin' Spots Getting Started Collection)

Ribbon:  Stitched-Poly Ribbon in Blushing Bride, 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Early Espresso, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Early Espresso

Coaster Photo Frame

If you're hopping over for my Let's Scrap Blog Hop challenge, CLICK HERE!!

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another inspiration challenge over at Stampin' Celebration!  Here is a photo of Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #38:

Ok, so I guess most normal people think of "love" when they see black and red, right?  I have to admit, when I see black and red I think Georgia Bulldogs!!!  LOL!  I guess that's what happens when you spend 4 college years in Athens rooting for the DAWGS!  :)   But, I ended up going with the "love" theme anyway for this week's creation!  Here it is:

I made this little photo frame for my hubby out of three coasters.  I didn't have any of the Jumbo Eyelets to attach them (like I've done in the past) so I used our Striped Grosgrain Ribbon on the back and then covered it with cardstock.  I cut the cardstock to 4 x 4 and used our Corner Rounder - it matched the coasters perfectly!  I used my new Circle Circus Stamp Set to match the little circle cookies in the bottom right hand side of the inspiration photo.  I thought the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and Glimmer Brads worked great with this as well!  I've made these with just two coasters before and they're just as cute - they make fun little gifts!

Supplies Used:
Paper:  Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps:  Tiny Tags, Circle Circus, Artistic Etchings (on the white circle), Seasonal Sentiments (from Holiday Mini), Bliss (FREE Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set)
Ink:  Basic Black and Whisper White Craft Ink
Punches:  Jewelry Tag and  1 3/8" Circle
Ribbon:  Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
Other:  Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Glimmer Brads (Brights Collection)

Here are a couple of close up photos:

This is the first time I used my Circle Circus and Tiny Tags Stamp Sets.  I just love those little tags you can make with the Jewelry Tag Punch!  I can't wait to use the Tiny Tags Stamp Set to make some more inserts for my Simply Adorned Necklace.  Soooo cute!

Here are the rest of the stamps that come in the Tiny Tags Stamp Set:

Isn't this a fun stamp set? So much you can do with it - cards, gift tags, jewelry, scrapbook embellishments....

Ordering info:
Tiny Tags Stamp Set:  #118091 (wood mount) - $22.95 or #118592 (clear mount) - $16.95
Coordinating Jewelry Tag Punch:  #117190 - $10.95
Add some paper, ink and few embellies, and your total will qualify you for a FREE stamp set during Sale-a-Bration!  Visit my online store to purchase your favorite Stampin' Up! Products!

And here's a close-up of the ribbon:

And here's the sketch:

I just love the title of this layout.  This little phrase is our saying.  We've been saying it ever since Evan was 4.  We were swinging on the playset in our backyard one day when Evan looks at me and says, "This is the life Mom."  It was just the sweetest thing ever.  It's the little moments like that, that I never want to forget!!  So, from then on, that's become our saying.  Little moments that make us happy, times when we're together, and times we never want to forget, always seem to be followed with - "This is the life."  And it is.  We are so truly blessed - and I love that my boys realize that!!  :)

Supplies Used:
Paper:  Play Date Designer Series Paper, Real Red Cardstock, Early Espresso Card Stock
Stamps:  Notes & Details, Filled With Love
Ink:  Early Espresso Ink Pad and Stampin' Write Marker
Ribbon:  Pear Pizzazz Stitched-Poly
