Skater Dude

Happy Sunday!  Just a quick post as I have company coming any minute now...  I've been going through my photos and trying to make a dent in them!  I found these pictures of Carter from a few years ago.  They aren't the best quality but his little face is so cute... that I just had to scrapbook them!  (And luckily, I have a Nikon now which is one of my most prized possessions....)  Here's my layout:

Lots of white space and colored "grunge" but I do love how this came out!!  I love the stamps in the Back to School and Epic Overlays downloads.  Sooooo fun!!  I have a few more things to show you but will have to save that for another day!

Thanks for visiting and happy creating!!

MDS Challenge

Happy Friday!  Hubby is away so the mouse will play...  I snuck some creative time in this afternoon and played along with the challenge over at MDS Monday.  Here's the result:

I used a mix of downloads for this layout:
Back to School, Delightful Digital Tape, Natural Composition Overlays, Large Polka Dot DSP, This & That Epic Day, Nobody's Business, Timeless Type Alphabet, Game Day Football (I cropped the "1st" out of the 1st Down stamp).

This is Life

Hi there!  Saturday I spent the day at the Scrapbook Expo with some friends.  My favorite purchase was my new Scrapbook Girl shirt and cup from my friend Lisa over at Scrapbook Girl.  If you're looking for fun scrapbooking clothing and accessories (and super cute and comfy pj's) make sure and check out the Scrapbook Girl website here. So fun!  After seeing so many cute creations at the Scrapbook Expo, I was inspired to come home and create!  I made a quick layout in MDS that was inspired by Norine over at Challenge Me Happy.  (You can see her layout that I scrap-lifted here).  I just stumbled upon this site (I think through Pinterest) and found some awesome inspiration.  Sadly, the challenge blog is ending but I did find some new blogs to follow. ;) Here's my layout:

I had fun creating this layout.  I just kept browsing through different embellishments and stamps in MDS - finding all kinds of fun treasures I hadn't used before.  ;)  I hope the boys understand my journaling and sense of humor some day.... But seriously, this is a horrible picture of them!  lol!

Today is Tuesday which means there are new MDS downloads released today!!  You can check them out HERE.  I'm especially excited about the Eastern Elegance download.  That's my favorite paper from the new catalog - so pretty!

And, if digi isn't your thing, you can purchase this gorgeous two-sided paper pack HERE.

$99 STARTER KIT BONUS!!  Get a FREE Project Kit (value up to $29.95) when you purchase the Stampin' Up! Starter Kit from now through August 31st.  The kit includes your choice of $125 of Stampin' Up! product (digi too), for $99 plus tax and free shipping!   Click HERE for a flyer that lists the bonus kits available with this promotion! SCIC #68 Sketch Challenge

Yay!  It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the Stampin' Celebration Blog!!  I created a scrapbook page in MDS using a couple of photos from the 4th of July.  (This might be the quickest I've ever scrapped my photos... I wish I was caught up enough to do this all of the time!!)  Here's my layout:

And here's this month's sketch:

Make sure and link up over at the Stampin' Celebration Blog by July 25th!

For my layout, I used the Summer Possibilities Kit:

Lots of fun stuff in this kit and all I used was the paper!  I can't wait to play with the stamps and embellishments!!  Love MDS!!  Don't forget to check out the new digital downloads that will be released tomorrow!!

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

Braves Fan

Hi there!  I had some time today to play along with the challenge over at MDS Monday. They have a sketch challenge where you combine photo boxes and fill them with one photo.  Here's my layout:

This is a fun technique and really easy in MDS!  And of course I love how it highlights my sweet boy's face.  ;)  Here he is at the Braves game.... wishing that he could be down there playing someday.

Well, off to take my other boy to lacrosse practice.  Always some kind of sports-something going on around here!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Christmas Wish List

So... I still have a couple of projects to share for this month's Creative Crew challenges. Our scrapbook challenge this month was to incorporate our Christmas Wish List onto our project.  Well... I don't know about you but I'm usually more concerned about my kids' lists than mine.  So... I really had to think about this one!  I came up with this page using MDS:

Yep, I think my family on that ship would be a fabulous Christmas gift! ;)

I had fun creating this page and making the banner for the top!  Scrapbooking is so easy in MDS!

Today is Tuesday.... which means it's digital download day!  I love to check out the new downloads each morning!  Which are your favorites?

Eat. Sleep. Play Ball.

Hi there!  It looks like it's been awhile since I've posted a scrapbook layout.  I have several pages I've created in MDS that I haven't posted.  Here's one of my favorites:

Baseball season just ended... and I think we're having withdrawals over here.  My 11 yo eats, sleeps and breathes baseball.  He's already asking how long until it starts up again!!  And we just returned from his World Series in Gulf Shores, AL.  Beach and baseball... it doesn't get much better than that!!

I created the layout above based on a sketch by Kimberly and Heather over at their Simply My Digital Studio Challenge Facebook Page.  It's lots of fun - check it out!

So... I'm a little behind the times and just realized that Google Reader retired on July 1st. I was researching some other blog readers out there and decided to switch over to Bloglovin'.  It was so easy to import all of the blogs that I stalk follow.  Plus, there's a great app for my ipad/iphone.  Once the kids go back to school, I love to browse my favorite blogs while I'm sitting in carline.  So, this will be perfect!!  You should check it out - and while you're at it, follow my blog too!  :)

Also, have you checked out the recent MDS downloads lately?  It's not just for scrapbooking....  Look at this fun Tags For All Designer Template download:

Make sure and check out the new downloads released each Tuesday in my Online Store here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Hello Christmas

Happy 4th of July!!  (and I'm about to share a Christmas card?!)  It's a rainy week here in Georgia... perfect day to create and blog! ;)  I wanted to share a card I made for one of the Creative Crew challenges this month over on Splitcoast Stampers.  For this challenge, we were to make a Christmas card using a non-Christmas stamp and follow a sketch from pg. 23 of the Celebrando Creatividad.  This was not easy... I mean, there are so many fabulous Christmas stamps.. .why would I try and be creative and come up with a way to use anything else?!  LOL!  Well.... I tried, and this is what I came up with:

I used the Oh, Hello stamp set shown below:

The only ingenious part was using the "OH" to say ho, ho, ho....  The rest was just using Christmas colors.  ;)

Products Used:
Stamps:  Oh, Hello
Ink:  Gumball Green, Real Red, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Real Red, Gumball Green, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Other:  Artisan Label Punch (#130920), Oval Framelits, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin Sponge

You can see the other DT creations in the Creative Crew Gallery on SCS here.  There are 4 challenges a month - make sure and check it out!!

Have you ever thought about joining a Design Team?  DT's are a great way to expand your creativity and make new craft-obsessed friends!  ;)  Stampin' Celebration is looking for a couple of new faces to join their DT.  Check out the Stampin' Celebration Blog for details!!  The deadline for submissions is July 31st!!

Loving Chevrons & SCIC #68

Chevrons are all the rage right now!  I love them in handbags, clothing, pillows and of course - paper crafts!!  Stampin' Up! has embraced the popularity of chevrons and I couldn't be happier!  This month's Inspiration Challenge over at Stampin' Celebration is all about chevrons as well!  Here's my take on this month's challenge:

Products Used:
Stamps:  Hearts a Flutter, Best of Greetings (#133485)
Ink:  Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Wisteria Wonder
Paper:  Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Other:  Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter Framelits (#130159), Chevron Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits (#129267)

Here is the inspiration photo challenge over at the Stampin' Celebration Blog:

You have all month to play along with this challenge!  A sketch challenge will be posted on the 15th - stop by and join us!

I made the card for my sweet 92 year old grandma who is in the hospital.  Two days before she was supposed to fly here to see my boys play lacrosse and baseball, she fell and broke her hip and collar bone.  :(  We were all so sad and disappointed.  She is the cutest thing ever and I know she could use a little pick me up.  I mailed this card along with two swatch books I made in MDS of the boys playing their sports.  She is still in the hospital and now has pneumonia and congestive heart failure.  Praying she gets better soon.  (And wishing we didn't live clear across the States from each other.)

Do you like the sentiment I used in my card?  Stampin' Up! is celebrating their 25 year Anniversary wit a special stamp set each month.  They contain older (retired) stamps plus one new stamp in each set.  The one I used above is from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set.  There's a new one for July - Best of Shelli.  It's super cute:

Each stamp set comes with a Collector's Card.  For every six "best of" sets you buy, you'll receive a FREE stamp set of your choice valued up to $14.95.  You can shop all of these stamp sets in my Online Store here.

Thanks for visiting and happy stamping!

Christmas in July!

The Creative Crew over at Splitcoast Stampers is celebrating Christmas in July!  Make sure and check it out and play along with our challenges this month!  Why not get a jump-start on your Christmas creations?!  :)

Here is one of the cards I created:

Products Used:
Stamps:  Seasonal Sayings
Ink:  VersaInk
Paper:  Eastern Elegance, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Other:  Epic Day Washi Tape, White Embossing Powder, Big Shot, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Rhinestone Jewels, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Dimensionals

Here is the Creative Crew Challenge:
Catalog Focus:  Washi tape!  I love the new washi tape on page 171 of the new catalog. Make a holiday card or gift that shows off washi tape!

I've had the Epic Day This and That Washi Tape sitting on my desk.....  I don't think I really knew what to do with it!  So, this was a great challenge for me.  I combined it with the Eastern Elegance DSP which I LOVE!  I thought the gray pattern looked a little like snowflakes.  And I'm thrilled that Stampin' Up! brought back the Seasonal Sayings stamp set - love it!!  I also added some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz which you can't really see in this photo - but it did add a fun shine to the card and especially the washi tape!

If you're in the mood for some fun crafting, check out the Creative Crew challenges over at SCS - it's a great way to get your creative juices flowing!!

Stampin' Up! is having some new promotions this month!  There is a great one on PAPER!!

Now's a great time to stock up on our fun new Designer Series Paper!!  Shop my online store here to choose your favorite DSP!!

Thanks for visiting!
