PLxSU Trio Challenge #14

Happy Monday!  This week the Trio is back with another challenge - with a twist.  Combine two previous challenges together on a Project Life page.  I looked over the past 13 weeks of challenges and kept it pretty simple -- I used stripes and arrows on my page:

I did a digital page using the Happiness Is and Everyday Adventure Project Life downloads.  :)

Here is a list of the previous challenges for you to choose from:

1) 3/23 - Use one photo in multiple pockets
2) 3/30 - Use a list
3) 4/6 - Stamp on a photo
4) 4/13 - Use arrows
5) 4/20 - Banner/Flags
6) 4/27 - Selfie
7) 5/4 - Sketch
8) 5/11 - Create a Card
9) 5/18 - What are you working on?
10) 5/25 - Black & White photo
11) 6/1 - Use Memorabilia
12) 6/8 - Use stripes
13) 6/15 - About Dad

Make sure and check out Holly & Amber's blogs and see which two challenges they used this week.  And stop by the PLxSU Trio Challenge Facebook page and upload your pages.  We can't wait to see what you create!!

MDS Monday - Downtown Grunge

Yep, this is my 3rd post this week for MDS Monday.  Obnoxious.  And a tad embarrassing.  But I had to make a few pages with another one of my favorite downloads.  This one I use all of the time.  Downtown Grunge.  My go to frames and background paper.  Love it.  And once again, I cheated and used the templates!!  This first page made me cry as I wrote the journaling.  My son just finished his freshman year.  How did that happen?!

And these next two made me giggle:

I'm still creating away using as many photobook template pages as I can!  I think I currently have 34 pages ready to print!  Woot!!

Thanks again to the MDS Monday gals for the inspiration!  Have a great weekend!

MDS Monday - Round 2

Ok, I'm back with another post for this week's challenge over at MDS Monday.  It's the last week so I'm getting my money's worth… lol.  I mentioned yesterday that I have several favorite MDS downloads and have been using all three this week.  Here, I'm sharing a 2 page layout using The Best Year Photobook Template.  I love this download to create layouts to sum up each month!  It's fun to use it for the random photos that don't always warrant a whole page - but helps document the little things that I really don't want to forget. :)

Once again, I feel like I'm cheating when I use these templates.  But, I sure do love getting so many photos scrapped!!  For the bottom right picture, I took a photo of my son's artwork - too cute!  I sure wish this was around when my kids were in preschool - would've made my life a lot easier!

MDS Monday - Favorites

So this week is the last challenge over at MDS Monday.  I've enjoyed playing along with their sketches and truly love all things MDS.  This week, the challenge is to create a layout using your favorite download.  I have several -- Downtown Grunge (I think I use those frames on almost every layout), The Best Year (so great for quick monthly pages) and the Game Day Photobook Template.

I've been working on several pages so I can get them printed through Stampin' Up! before their print services are gone for good.  (sniff, sniff)  I've used template pages from the above downloads to get them done quickly!  It's pretty amazing how you can change a few elements and colors and it looks completely different!  Here, are some pages I did using the Game Day Photobook Template download.

I kind of feel like I'm cheating when I use the template pages -- but I'm always so happy with the results!!  I changed colors, added some different stamps and journaling and then the pages are perfect for my photos!! Love it!  I recently purchased several other downloads that have photobook templates while they're on sale. I can't wait to get these pages printed!

I'll post some layouts later this week using my other two favorite downloads. Thanks to the ladies over at MDS Monday for the inspiration.  :)

Have a great day!

PLxSU Trio Challenge #8

Wow!  I can't believe we're already on week #8 of the PLxSU Trio Challenge.  Our hope is that you're finding inspiration on our Facebook page to get those precious photos into albums!  This week, our challenge is a little different.  Instead of completing an entire page, the Trio challenges you to create a WOW card to use on a page later. (Or if you're feeling ambitious… go ahead and use it and show us that too!)  It doesn't matter how many or what size Project Life card you create, if it's traditional or digital - just have fun!

I created two digital cards that I have in mind for an upcoming page in my oldest son's high school album.

My son went to the Sadie Hawkins dance this year as a freshman. I have some really cute photos from that night that I can't wait to scrapbook!  Usually, I make pretty boring title cards so I'm excited to have these done ahead of time - lol!  I used cards from the Everyday Adventure set as the starting point and added some other embellishments and stamps from other downloads.

We can't wait to see what you create this week!  Post your Project Life cards on our PLxSU Trio Challenge Facebook page!  And don't forget to check out Amber and Holly's blogs to see what they've created!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge

Hi there!  There's another new sketch this week over at MDS Monday that I wanted to play along with!  Anita's sketch has a place for one special photo so I chose a picture of my mom and me.

I don't get to use girly elements very often so this was a fun page to create. And I love this photo.  I took my mom to see Jersey Boys at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta for her birthday.  We had a great day together and snapped this selfie of ourselves. :)

Products Used:
Sweet Sorbet Download
Love Story Project Life
Grateful Pocket Cards

MDS Monday Sketch Challenge

Today I'm linking up to a sketch challenge over at MDS Monday.  When I saw the little border for the Project Life 3x4 cards, I just had to play along!  I'm working on photos from two different vacations right now… One I'm doing digital and the other I'm doing with traditional Project Life. I'm having so much fun!  I thought this sketch would be perfect for these two photos from a cruise we took last year:

Products Used:
Playground Project Life Cards Digital Download
Happy Hello Baker's Twine
Fall Memories - Tape
Downtown Grunge - Frames

I think I might have to use this sketch again!  So fun and super quick to pull together!  Yay!

Thanks for visiting!!  :)

MDS Blog Hop - Christmas Traditions

Wow, this week has flown by and it's already time for our MDS Blog Hop!  Today, we're sharing Christmas/Winter memories or traditions.  I always have tons of pictures from the holidays.  Sometimes, the random little pictures on my phone end up being my favorite!  I love scrapping them because they usually give a glimpse into our everyday life.  I took some of the pictures from last year and scrapped them Project Life style.

All of these crazy little photos mean something pretty special to our family -- and that's what scrapbooking is all about!!  :)

While I was going through my layouts in MDS, I found one I created last year.  I think it might have been for our hop - so you may have seen it before! I made it with a blank photo frame.  And, I realized that I never went back and added my photo!  So, I did that and am ready to have it printed.  Yay!  Here's the finished layout:

This layout uses the fun paper from the 12 Days of Christmas Swatchbook Template download which is on sale this week for $7.77!!  It's a great download -- you don't have to use it for a swatchbook!!

Well, it's time to hop on over to Beth's blog.  I'm excited to see what she'll be sharing with us!  Click the button below to find out!

Thanks for hopping along with us!!

Project Life - High School

Today is another Blog Hop with my talented MDS friends!  Last time we focused on Project Life.  Today we are sharing what we've been working on in My Digital Studio. Well guess what??  I'm still working on Project Life - I'm hooked!!

My oldest son started high school (gasp) this year.  I wanted to make a scrapbook of his high school years to give to him when he graduates.  I decided to do it in MDS - Project Life style.  I'm not going week by week, but just documenting events throughout the school year as they happen.  Here are the first couple of pages that I created:

I've used the Happiness Is Project Life Cards Digital Download to start off his album. I'm still so excited that Stampin' Up! has partnered with Becky Higgins to bring us these exclusive Project Life products!  I have both the digital and the traditional versions and I just can't get enough!!  I decided to do the digital version for his album in hopes it will be easy for me to keep up over the next four years!!  Here are a few more pages I've completed:

I LOVE being able to include so many photos in these layouts.  I also love how in MDS I can add journaling & text over the photos.  I want to make sure to include lots of journaling in this special album!  (The font I used for journaling is Tahoma.)

You might have noticed that I used three different layouts for these pages.  I made templates in MDS that coordinate with the Project Life Page Protectors.  I added some stitching around the "pockets" for a fun effect.

I'm having so much fun with this album that I had to share -- even though I'm trying to keep it a secret from him over the next four years! :)

I'm glad you stopped by and we hope you'll follow along on our Blog Hop!  Next up is Beth Rush!  I always look forward to her creations!!  Click the button below to see what she's been up to in MDS:

Have a great day!!

Mesmerized by Mickey

I'm on a digi scrapping roll this week!  I've created 8 pages and have an all day crop to go to tomorrow!  Whoop, whoop!!  Today I found this fun sketch over at MDS Monday and had to play along!  I scrapped a couple of cute Disney photos from years ago!

Seriously, could his face (and those cheeks) be any cuter?!  It's so sad how quickly they grow up!!  Our Disney vacations are definitely some great times to look back on!

Here's Anita's sketch that I used for my inspiration:

I love this sketch (almost as much as I love Anita's work!).  It came together quickly and enabled me to use lots of different paper.  Very fun sketch!  I used the sequins in place of the splatters and recolored them to Basic Gray.  I love how they look silver. :)

Looking forward to getting some more scrap time in this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Digital Project Life with Stampin' Up!

Happy Hop Day!  Our MDS crew is back at it again and this week it's all about Project Life!  This is the time of year when I always scramble and scrap last year's Christmas photos!  I have to get them done before it's Christmastime again!  The thing I LOVE about Project Life is that you can get so many photos scrapped on a double page layout!  Here's my first double page spread:

I always take so many pictures at Christmas.  We celebrate with my side of the family Christmas Eve, just the four of us Christmas morning and then my hubby's side of the family Christmas evening.  So… lots of photo ops for sure!  It's nice to fit THIRTEEN photos on double page layout!!  Plus journaling and cute embellies!  Whoop!

I was on a roll and wanted to scrap the rest of our Christmas day with another double page Project Life layout:

I used the same ("page protector") layout for both of these.  I found most of my photos went horizontal so this design worked best!  To make it easy, I created a photo layout template:

I added photo boxes where I wanted them, rounded the corners to 20, and saved the page as a photo layout.  Now, whenever I want to create a PL page using this template, I can insert this saved layout. It really speeds things up!  :)

I can't wait to see what the other ladies are doing with Project Life!  We have a guest designer this month - Monika Davis!  So make sure and follow our Blog Hop all the way through to see what she created!  Click the button below to hop over to Beth's blog:

And don't forget to check out the new MDS downloads just released!!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!

SC90 - Bridal Shower

Happy Thursday!  It's been a long, long time since I've joined the fun over at Stampin' Celebration!  We moved last month but we are finally getting settled.  As a matter of fact, my hubby is installing the cabinets in my craft room as I type this!  Oh, how I've missed it!  It's been almost 10 weeks since it's been in boxes… so sad!  But, I was able to use the inspiration photos to create a layout in MDS!

Here is the inspiration piece from Stampin' Celebration:

I used the wood, the flowers and the colors as my inspiration. :)

Products Used:
MDS - Soft Blooms, Fancy Frames, Downtown Grunge, Be Yourself (background paper), Season Snapshot Project Life (woodgrain stamp)

Make sure and check out the other Design Team creations over on the Stampin' Celebration Blog!  We'd love for you to play along and use the linky tool to show us your projects!  You have until Friday, November 7th at 9 pm (EST) to join us!

MDS Hop - Getting it Done!

Welcome to today's MDS Blog Hop!  Today we are showing you what we've been working on in MDS.  I was looking through some of our scrapbooks the other day and noticed that I never did the 2nd page of a New Year's layout from a couple of years ago. Luckily, with MDS, it was so easy to finish!! I imported the first page into MDS and then created a duplicate page mirrored.  I changed a few things and added a few more photo boxes.  Once I added my photos and a few stamps I was done!!  :)

Here is the original layout (or left side of this now double page spread):

I used the Midnight Cheer download.  It's such a fun kit that comes with everything you need!  All I added was a little glimmer paper, twine and stitching! :)

I still have a lot of pages to fill in my scrapbooks… but MDS is helping me to get it done!!!

Next up on our hop is Beth Rush!  Click the button below to link to to her blog!  I can't wait to see what she's been up to!
