My One Little Word for 2013

Happy Friday!

I found time last night to play along with a challenge over at SCS.  The challenge was to scrapbook a page with one word as your inspiration.  This challenge is based on Ali Edwards' approach to the New Year - choosing one word to focus on, instead of several unkept resolutions.  Last year my word was "simplify."  This year my word is "balance". (Do you see the pattern?)  Obviously, I have too much going on if I need to simplify and balance my life!  lol.  Hoping this will be my year!

This was definitely a challenge for me.  The designing came easily.... but it was sharing my thoughts (and photo of myself) that put me out of my comfort zone.  In the end however, it was almost therapeutic.  It felt good to get some thoughts on 'paper' and think about some of the things I want out of the new year.

Happy New Year Layout & New Digi Downloads!

So, yesterday I set a goal to complete 75 scrapbook pages this year!  What are your creative goals for 2013?  I am happy to report I created page #2 last night!  :)  Here it is:



I combined patterned paper from different downloads for this layout.   I also had fun playing with some of my new downloads from last month.  I'm not sure I'm crazy about the color combo... but I do love this cute picture of my boys on New Year's Eve.  Fun memories!  I hope to work on the accompanying page this week!  :)

I was pretty excited to find out last week that I was chosen as the winner of the MDS weekly challenge for my layout here.  As my prize, I get to choose a layout from today's new downloads!  Yay!  Here is one of today's downloads:

Life with Boys...

Happy Monday!  I'm back with another MDS digi layout.  I finally downloaded the 1000 photos off of my phone.  No, I'm not exaggerating!!  lol.  It's amazing the fun photos you can find when you actually take the time to get them off of your phone!!  I found this photo (which my Facebook friends have already seen) and just had to scrapbook it.


I have to admit, this layout made me chuckle...  Journaling is such an important part of scrapbooking and I'm guilty of not always doing it as much as I should.  I hope my son appreciates this layout someday... or that it at least embarrasses him a little.  hee hee.

Pinterest-Inspired Photo Banner Frame

Today I want to share with you a project we did last month for our "Ladies Craft Night" and my neighborhood activities center.  My awesome downline Stacey, helped me come up with this project (she did most of it) and helped teach the class.  Actually, we had such a big turnout her daughter came and helped us as well!  :)  Here's what we made:

 

I just love this project!  You can just clip the photos on there so you can swap them out year after year.  The neutral colors really go with any decor and it uses so many fun Stampin' Up! products!

Everyone had a great time!  Here are some photos..... I hope this doesn't take forever to load on your computer!  (I always worry about that!)
