Fright Night Scrapbook Layout

Happy Halloween!!  And Happy Birthday to my now 14 year old son!  I thought it was a great day to share a Halloween layout I just created!

I used one of this month's new digital downloads - Fright Night Ensemble.  (#135642)

This download comes with everything you'd need for a spooky party!  But, it's also fun for a scrapbook layout as well!  I love how there is a stamp brush frame to coordinate with the punch!  I used them both for the banner:

I used a drop shadow in Smoky Slate for most of my items to help them show up better against the black background.

For the spider web, I used one of the stamps called Fright Night - web 1.  I used the crop tool so I could use the spider web without the frame.  It worked perfectly!  I changed the color to Whisper White, decreased the opacity to 35%, and waa-laa!  I had the perfect spider web for the corner of my layout! :)

My Digital Studio Design Team!!!

Eeeeek!  I was so excited when Stampin' Up! asked me to be a part of the new My Digital Studio Design Team!  I think I re-read the email three times thinking that it must have been a mistake!  Of course I was announced on the VERY LAST day of the reveals when I've known for over a month about it!  But, the cat is {finally} out of the bag and I cannot wait to continue to share my love of digital designing with My Digital Studio!

There are some crazy-talented ladies in this group that I'm excited to work with!  One is my upline, two are on the MDS Blog Hop with me and I'm happy to call several of them good friends that have inspired my along the way!  :)

Here is my "big reveal" from the My Digital Studio website today:

My Digital Studio Design Team Spotlight

Name:   Cori Kozak

Location:   Acworth, GA

About me:   I’m a nutritionist by degree, a stay-at-home mom by day, and an avid crafter & digi-designer anytime in between.  I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator since October 2010 and have loved every minute of it!  I have an extremely supportive husband and two boys that are the main subjects of my scrapbook pages.  J

How I got started with My Digital Studio:  My upline (hi Mandy!) was always creating in MDS and it rubbed off on me!  I wanted a way to get all of the photos off of my computer and into my scrapbooks - quickly.  I made my first page in MDS 2 years ago, uploaded it to MDS.net and haven’t stopped since!

Five fun facts about me:
1.  I was anti-digital scrapbooking for many, many years…
2.  I was voted Most Likely to Succeed in high school.
3.  I attended the University of Georgia (Go DAWGS!)
4.  I surround myself with people that make me laugh.
5.  I’m a dog lover.  Love me, love my two 85 pound labs.  J

Five of my favorite My Digital Studio downloads:
1.  Downtown Grunge
2.  Back to School
3.  Natural Composition Overlays
4.  The Best Year
5.  Game Day

Here's a sample that most conveys my personality:

Downloads Used:
Downtown Grunge & Happy Life

Every time I look at that picture of me, I will think about my 13 yo taking lots of photos of me in the backyard with my camera phone....  since I needed one to send in... hahahahaha!

MDS Blog Hop Layout

Happy Thursday!  It's MDS Blog Hop day and I'm so excited!  We've kind of restructured the way we do our hop so now I don't get to see the other designer's projects ahead of time...  I can't wait to see what everyone created!!  This week we're showing our readers what we've been working on.  I actually  scrapped some pretty recent photos for a change!  Here's my layout:

These are my crazy boys that I spend my days and nights with!  I love to surround myself with people who make me laugh... and these three always do!

Products Used:
Software:  My Digital Studio
Downloads: Happy Life, Downtown Grunge, Alphabet Soup, Natural Composition Overlays, Delightful Digital Tape, Staples and Stitching, Rhinestone Jewels
Font:  You All Everybody

I love using the Digital Tape as little journaling spots.  I used the white tape but recolored it to basic gray.  I also love alphabet punches - so fun to fill them with DSP!!

Don't forget to follow along with our MDS Blog Hop to see what the other designers are creating.  Next up is Beth and I'm sure she created something fabulous!  Simply click the button below to follow along with us!

There are so many possibilities with this sketch!  My brainstorming went from birthday to Halloween to Thanksgiving and finally ended up on Christmas!  Here's the card I created:

The more I look at it, I feel like it needs a little extra something.....  Maybe a stamp on the white, or some solid paper for the ornament "tops".... but, it's cute and Christmas-y nonetheless.  :)

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes  (a must have)
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede
Paper:  Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack (#132181), Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede

MDS Blog Hop - Ready for Thanksgiving!!

Hi there!  It is time for the MDS Blog Hop with a few new changes!!  First of all, a big welcome to Elizabeth Rush!!  She has joined our group of 10 digital designers and we're so happy to have her join us!  Secondly, our format has changed a bit to make it easier for everyone - we hope you enjoy it!  And lastly, notice our new MDS Blog Hop buttons?!  Thanks to Jeanna Bohannon for creating these little gems!

I am still on cloud 9 for being asked to join this group of ladies!  We all have a passion for My Digital Studio and love to share it with you!  You will find us blog hopping on the 2nd and 4th THURSDAYS of each month!  We will have a "theme" selected on the first hop and then a "What we are doing in MDS" on the second hop.  Also new, is the hopping method.  Just click on the NEXT button and it will take you to the next person on the hop.  We hope this inspires you to get creative with My Digital Studio!!

The theme for today's hop is "Ready for the Holidays".  We each chose a holiday to focus on - mine is Thanksgiving.  This is a holiday that always seems to slip by me.  I was excited to spend some time creating a few holiday items that have been on my "to do" list.

First up is a framable to create a dry erase frame.  I've been wanting to have a "thankful board" for my family for awhile now and just haven't made one yet.  I used our fun Sweater Weather Download to create this:

In November, I want each member of our family to take turns each day writing what we're thankful for with a dry erase marker.  :)

I made a second project as well.  My boys are a little old for "lunchbox notes".... but I thought it would be cute to make little thankful notes for them.  I will stick them on their bathroom mirror or in their books.  Maybe it will bring a smile to their faces and let them know how thankful I am to be their mom.   All I have to do is print these out and cut! :)

These were fun to make.  I used paper from the Sweater Weather Download (again).  :P
Make sure and follow along on our MDS Blog Hop!  Next up is our new designer, Beth Rush!  I can't wait to see what she created!  Simply click the button below to hop on over to her blog!

Thanks for visiting! :)

SCIC #71 - Grateful There's You!

Hi there!!  There's a new challenge over at the Stampin' Celebration Blog!  I created this card using the photos as my inspiration:

And here is the Inspiration Challenge:

Isn't this a great collection of photos?!  I chose the colors and the flowers as my inspiration!

Products Used:
Stamps:  Chalk Talk
Ink:  Early Espresso (stamped off) and sponged around edges
Paper:  Sweater Weather (#132184), Crumb Cake
Other:  Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Cotton Ribbon (torn), Chalk Talk Framelits, Boho Blossoms Punch, Adorning Acceents Edgelits, Mini Brads, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

I made the flowers by using the Boho Blossoms Punch, spritzing them with water, layering together with a brad, and scrunching them to look like flowers.  I love to do this!

You can follow along with our Blog Hop to see the other Design Team Creations:

Erica Cerwin - Pink Buckaroo Designs
Erin Gonzales -Hand Stamped Style
Cori Kozak - Creative Chat
Allison Ohran - Sweet Impressions
Lauri Ingram - Paperville Crafts
