Sneak Peek - Valentine Defined

Happy Tuesday!  I woke up feeling creative today and knew I wanted to finish my parents' anniversary card.  (My mom has strict instructions not to view my blog until after she receives it in the mail - lol!)

With this card, I'm giving you a sneak peek of a new stamp set, Valentine Defined, coming out in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  You'll be able to order from this new mini on January 4th - woo hoo!  Here's the card I created:

Isn't it cute?!  I love when you can use a stamp set for so many different occasions!  Here's the sentiment I stamped on the inside of the card:

This is from the Hostess Stamp Set, Occasional Quotes.  I grab this stamp set all of the time!!  So many great sentiments in it!
Here are the supplies used for this card:
Cardstock:  Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink:  Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso (inside sentiment)
Stamps:  Valentine Defined, Occasional Quotes
Punches:   1 3/4" circle, 2 3/8" scallop circle
Ribbon:  Blushing Bride Stitched Poly
Other:  Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Dimensionals, Paper Piercing Tool, Sticky Strip

This is one of the cards we'll be making at the January Crazy 4 Cards Class.  To learn more about this class or to register, click here.  There are morning and evening classes available.  :)

Well, that's it for today!  Off to play Dicecapades with the boys - a fun, new board game that Santa brought us!

Hello Baby!

I'm a little worried about posting this.... wondering if the recipient will see it here before it arrives.... but I just can't wait!  :)

My cousin had a baby and I wanted to make a card to go along with the gift that my mom and I bought for her.  She has a little owl on the nursery wall which looks so cute!  So naturally, I wanted an owl on the card!!  I based this card on a sketch (Card Pattern #95) over at Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog.  Here's my take on this week's sketch:

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  Baha Breeze, Early Espresso, Whisper White
Patterned Paper:  Greenhouse Gala DSP
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes (hello baby sentiment), Word Play (envelope)
Punches:  Two-Step Owl Punch, Scallop Trim Border
Ribbon:  Pear Pizzazz

I hope she likes it! I mailed the package across the country today (yes, I went to the Post Office 3 days before Christmas)!  I can't remember the last time I've seen her because there are so many miles between us.  So, I'm hoping it will be a nice little unexpected surprise for her!

Thanks for visiting!

Extreme Skater Birthday Card

My son was invited to a birthday party last weekend so I wanted to make a quick card for him to take.  I had some new stamps that had not been inked (gasp) and was anxious to play with them.  I had seen some fun ideas combining these two stamp sets on the Stampin' Connection (Demonstrator only site) and wanted to give it a try.  Here's the card and matching envelope I came up with:

I showed it to Evan and he loved it.  He actually thought it was "cool."  I love that boy!  ;)

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Extreme Skateboard, Extreme Elements, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock:  Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy
Envelope:  Naturals White
Punches:  Modern Label, Word Window

I also wanted to mention that I've been busy planning my January Classes!  Check out my class calendar and register today!  :)

Cute Gift Card Holder

Happy Saturday!  The kids are on Christmas break so we are all very happy campers over here!  I still have a lot of shopping to get finished - one of these years I'll get it done early - but I'm making a dent little, by little!  Yesterday the boys had their class parties up at the school.  I wanted to show you this cute little gift card holder I made for one of the teachers.

Isn't it adorable?  It's a bandaid tin decorated with our fun Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper.

Here's the matching card to go inside.

Complete with a gift card to Target.  (pronounced "Tar-jay.")  hee hee.

She loved it and thought the tin was pretty darn cute.  The funny thing is, my son said, "What do you mean a bandaid tin?"  OH..... I guess he doesn't know what a metal bandaid container is.....?  Sheesh, that made me feel OLD!  lol!

I have a few more of these tins that I'd like to play with.  Wouldn't they be cute filled with gift tags, a little mini album, or cards?!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

What a Mess!!

Guess what I'll be doing tomorrow - and maybe the day after that?!  Cleaning my scrap room!!  I've been crazy busy between holiday happenings, the boys' social lives and extracurricular activities, working on our basement, and my Stampin' Up business!  Over the last two weeks, I've had 8 events to work!  It's been a whirlwind -- but so much fun!!  I must say, I'll take this job over any that I've had!!  {wink, wink}

So.... many of you have seen the pictures of my "studio" in an older post, and have asked if it is always that clean.

BEFORE:

Well, I decided to take a picture of my mess to show you that it is not!  This is what my desk looks like after two weeks of creating with no cleaning up in between!

 AFTER:

I am definitely ready for it to be nice and organized again.... (sigh)

Well, that's all I have for tonight!  I do have some projects to post this week so check back!!  Remember to sign up to become a "follower" so you'll be notified when there's a new post!  Also, if you'd like to be on my mailing list, sign up to receive my monthly newsletter.  There are lots of fun classes coming up in January, as well as the Let's Scrap Blog Hop!!

Greenhouse Gala Scrapbook Layout

Oh scrapbooking, how I've missed you!  It's been quite a while since I've taken the time to scrapbook a layout!  I've been so busy getting my Stampin' Up! business started, that I haven't taken the time to actually scrapbook!  I've had lots of fun creating cards and paper crafting, but scrapbooking will always be my first love!  ;)

I have been waiting to use my new Stampin' Up! Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper.  Isn't it gorgeous?!  I knew this paper was perfect for Cheri's sketch this week over at Let's Scrap!!  (Her sketches ROCK and always inspire me!!)

Here's the layout I completed.  My Grandma came in September to celebrate our 40th and 90th birthdays. Remember the card I created for her here?  Well, I have a picture of her reading it - pretty cool!  My Grams has to be the most beautiful 90 yo on the planet!  I just love her to pieces and will cherish these photos forever!!  And the best thing about scrapbooking is, my kids will cherish them and can share them with their children!!
